We never sell someone else's formula, and we never use the base synthetic ingredients that other companies start with. Tata Harper products are made by Tata Harper employees right here in the United States, not by an outsourced company.
For me, the thing I love most about working at a vertically integrated company is that I'm always busy and always learning new things, whether it's about raw materials or regulations.
One thing that I was surprised to learn about the skin that has really influenced the way I approach research and development for new products (especially age-defying ones) is that as we age, our skin's ability to produce Hyaluronic Acid, which is an important element in retaining water and that youthful plump look, gradually decreases. We bring in our own HA with the lowest molecular weight possible, to help replenish that lost substance. It makes such a dramatic difference in the skin!
If I could recommend one product to everyone, it would be the Regenerating cleanser. I use it in the shower every morning. I love the vibrant smell of grapefruit essential oil; it helps to wake me up.
What I appreciate the most about working with this company is the personal connection I've obtained with all of my co-workers. All aspects of the company are in-house, from raw ingredient purchasing through manufacturing, packaging and marketing. We are all together in this through thick and thin, and I feel that the fact that all different aspects and departments of the company interact with each other every day develops trust and closer relationships all around.
One of the most fascinating things that I've ever learned is actually about our super concentrated botanical messengers, Essential Oils. Pure, unadulterated essential oils have the highest measurable vibrational frequency of anything else on the planet! For the most part everything has a frequency that is measurable in Megahertz. For instance, fresh produce has a frequency up to 15 MHz, dry herbs from 12 to 22 MHz, and fresh herbs from 20 to 27 MHz., whereas processed and canned foods have no measurable frequency whatsoever. The measured frequencies of essential oils begin at 52 MHz, the frequency of basil oil, and go as high as 320 MHz — the frequency of rose oil. The high frequency that these oils have creates an environment in which no virus, bacteria or pathogens can survive! They're truly the perfect botanical healers. So, the fact that every single one of our products at Tata Harper Skincare is scented with these pure oils not only means that the aroma is outstanding, but also means that these powerful essential oils are delivering their benefits and energy to your skin with every use.
Picking a favorite product is tough for me, I Love them all, but I would have to say that our Replenishing Nutrient Complex is at the top. Not only for it's incredible aroma, but the Complex has a powerhouse of very beneficial oils for the health and repair of our skin at a cellular level. The high percentage of Rosehip oil lends to a healthy glow to skin and fast healing to damaged areas. This oil contains Omega 3,6 and 9, vitamin C, lycopene and linoleic acids. All of these elements help regenerate skin cells, minimize the signs of aging, reduce fine lines, boosts collagen and moisturizes skin. I use it every night after washing my face and wouldn't go without it.
Our ability to control all aspects of our business means that we can produce the highest quality products on the market. There is something special about seeing the plants grow, moving them to our processing facility, and making small batches of skin care products with those freshly dried and processed plants.
Something I love about our manufacturing process has been discovering that when you make products out of 100% natural ingredients, I'm always amazed by how consistently they come out, yet at the same time, each lotion has an independent feel and smell. I can probably only tell that because I'm interacting with the formulas every day as they're freshly batched – as you can imagine, our offices smell amazing!
I love all of the products, but the Revitalizing Body Oil is one of my favorite. I play a lot of hockey, and this oil is great after a hot shower following a game, especially in the cold Vermont months when the weather saps your skin of moisture.
It's clear to me that having all of our aspects of production in-house really allow us to have better control over the quality of our products. There are no mysteries, no questions we have to ask people outside of our own building. It forges a really strong connection between the employees and the products, too; we know them all inside and out.
One fun fact that I think really shows how concentrated and powerful our products are, especially the essential oils involved, is that it takes 10,000 roses to make one fluid ounce of Rose Otto essential oil.
The Revitalizing Body Oil is a product that I'd recommend to anyone, especially people who spend a lot of time active outdoors, like I do. It really helps soothe the skin after a lot of time in the sun.
