Meet Our Upcycled & Sustainable Ingredients

When we say that we’re sustainable at every step here at Tata Harper, we mean it. From product ideation to manufacturing, every decision we make has always been to benefit our planet as well as our skin. So when engineering our maximal performance formulas, utilizing sustainable ingredients is a non-negotiable.

So what makes our ingredients sustainable?

Every single ingredient that goes into our formulas comes from nature. Because of this, you won’t find a single drop of synthetic chemicals in our products. Of course, we also would never test on animals! As a result of these decisions, our formulas are fully byproduct-free, biodegradable formulas that won’t pollute or damage the earth.

To take our commitment one step further, we also seek out upcycled ingredients. But what exactly are upcycled ingredients? Upcycled ingredients are those that would have typically been discarded. So what do we do with them?

To promote our zero-waste philosophy, we partner with responsible ingredient suppliers that utilize raw materials such as discarded fruit seeds from the food industry and turn them into powerful cosmetic ingredients. The seeds are collected from the food, juice, and jam manufacturing industries. They are cleaned, dried, and then pressed for oil.

All of our ingredient suppliers are also certified through our ECOCert Certification: ensuring they are using green chemistry, natural processes, respect human and animal welfare, biodiversity, and the environment throughout their manufacturing processes.
