early summer in the Tata harper garden
After a seemingly endless winter and chilly spring, the garden at our Tata Harper Headquarters is finally in full swing. Early June is an exciting time: our annual flowers and herbs are taking root, and the lush, verdant scenery of hills and forests are as green as they can be.
We grow as many of our own ingredients as we can on our farm (like arnica, calendula, meadowsweet, borage and alfalfa) which we then transform into a powerful, nutritious ingredient in our skincare called the Estate Grown Beauty Complex. The rest of our natural ingredients come from farms and laboratories around the world. But our garden has edibles, too: strawberries, sugar snap peas, heirloom tomatoes, lacinato kale and even a row of corn. All of it’s grown organically, of course.
Right now, our herb garden has started to sprout with the chives leading the way. Arnica is starting to bloom, too – those are the small yellow flowers, below. In just a few weeks, those will be ready to harvest, and our greenhouse will be full of the blooms! Planted throughout the herbs and vegetables are flowers like cosmos, poppies, peonies, daisies, zinnias, lupines, and a few varieties of roses, which are early bloomers; their inviting scent literally fills the garden.
Take a stroll through the images below – we’ll be sharing more as the summer progresses and our greenhouses fill!
