get the look: proenza schouler nyfw
Thrilled doesn’t begin to describe how we felt about being backstage to prep skin for Proenza Schouler’s final NYFW show before they pack up for Paris Couture Week in July. It was more than the finale that had us excited to be there: We’ve long admired the work of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.
Their final show paid ultimate homage to the energy and style of the city they’ve called home, with a mashup of textures, asymmetrical angles, and leather straps. All the drama was left to the garments. “Since the final makeup look was very minimal, our goal was to give the models a perfectly hydrated, smooth, and radiant base,” Tata explained. Mission accomplished.
For all the diverse angles, colors, and fabrics, the models’ glowing skin was a total common denominator. Here’s how Tata got the look (and you can, too!)
- “We gently cleansed the skin with the Nourishing Oil Cleanser to remove any excess makeup or impurities, then followed with our Resurfacing Mask to give the skin an instant glow.”
- “Next we infused the skin with hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and vitamins with our Rejuvenating Serum, and followed with a hydrating yet mattifying layer of our Rebuilding Moisturizer.”
- “Finally the models were spritzed with Hydrating Floral Essence for a final dose of skin-plumping moisture before heading to makeup.” Diane Kendal for Mac completed the final, minimal cosmetic look.
That was so much fun. As Harper’s Bazaar put it “Proenza girls have always prided themselves on being smart, confident and ahead of the pack.” That’s a sentiment we aspire to.
