Surround Yourself With People Who Lift You Up:
It goes without saying that meaningful relationships and friendships are a vital part of living a fulfilling, happy life. Make the effort to spend time with people who inspire you to be the best version of yourself. Positive energy is contagious.
Surround Yourself in Nature:
With springtime just around the corner, the days are getting longer, meaning there is more sunshine to absorb. Utilize it! It is scientifically proven that exposure to sunlight (Vitamin D) can boost your mood, increasing your brain’s ability to release serotonin. So, carve out some time in your week to get outside; go for a long hike with your dog, visit a local farm and see the animals, or simply drink your morning coffee outside and catch some sun-rays. Let’s not forget, lower stress levels mean healthier skin!
Marie Kondo Your Living Space:
If you’re unfamiliar with the tidying queen taking the internet and Netflix by storm, Marie Kondo’s method involves only keeping belongings in your home that “spark joy.” Kondo’s methodology also involves organizing your space in a way that is decluttered and makes everything easily accessible, minimizing stress. Springtime is the perfect time to revamp your living space as you put your heavy winter coats into storage and break out the sun-dresses and kimonos.

Meditation gives us insight into our thought patterns so that we can begin to recognize when we habitually think positive or negative thoughts. Over time, we can begin to consciously shift our thought patterns, leading to an overall happier state of mind. Take a few minutes everyday to slow down and recalibrate your thoughts. Focus on your breath and bring to mind something or someone who brings you joy. Let yourself sit with these feelings for a minute and acknowledge that these few moments of positive thinking can transcend into the rest of your day.
