National Stress Awareness Day? We’ve got you.

Modern life can be a serious struggle. In the day-to-day whirlwind of crowded commutes, work presentations, and even watching the evening news, stress and anxiety are, well, unavoidable.

And here’s the real kicker: stress is one of the major things that contributes to premature aging of skin.

So, what can we do to control our stress (and, in effect, keep our youthful looking complexions)? Here at Team Tata, we like to turn to our Aromatic Treatments to help slice through tension or stress at our work desks, on flights, before bed… or anywhere in between.

The Power of Scent

The transformative power of scent is truly that - powerful. While some may not realize it, our sense of smell is directly connected to our brains, moods, and experiences. Aromas can trigger emotional and even physical responses to your body. Think of a time a certain aroma has reminded you of something…maybe a summer house on the ocean, a childhood memory, or even an ex-boyfriend. This is because our sense of smell is linked to some of the oldest and deepest parts of the brain.

Our Rituals

Discover our everyday rituals to calm the body and mind through the medium of scent. 

Step 1:

The most powerful way to experience the benefits of aromatherapy right away is to inhale it. For best results, apply liberally to palms, rub hands together and inhale deeply. Try taking 5-10 deep calming breaths, and allow for any negative feelings to melt away.


Step 2:

Aromatherapy is most effective when focusing on pulse points. If you’re on the go and in need of five minutes of mindfulness, we suggest using one of our treatments on your pulse points to enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy while you’re on your travels and at any time during the day. Our joints need a lot of love, as the junctions throughout our body, holding everything together. Oily skin holds scent better than dry skin, so make sure to moisturize before rolling on your aromatic treatment. This is a ritual worth savoring. For enhanced relaxation, enter a steamy bath or shower post-application. Roll your stress away...  

  • Wrists: Roll the aromatic treatment back-and-forth 2-3x on one wrist. Rub your wrists together. Cup your palms and lift them up to cover your nose. Inhale deeply. 
  • Neck: Wrap your wrists around each side of your neck, and brush along the base of your neck and upper chest to ensure scent is well-distributed, and so that stress release can be experienced at all junctions.
  • Behind and in front of ears: Lightly rub your wrists behind and in front of your ears. Then return cupped palms to your nose and inhale deeply once again to complete the ritual.
 Apply throughout the day if needed, and enjoy the relief it brings. Afterall, our Aromatic Treatments are purse-sized for a reason!

Step 3:

If you have a bit of extra time in the morning or at the end of a long day, consider applying our Revitalizing Body Oil via whole body self-massage. 

Each night, apply a calming blend to wrists neck to meditate with before dozing off. Let your mind wander away from the stressors of the day before, and focus solely on winding down... you deserve it!
