I love the holiday season. It really is the best of everything: cuddling at home with my children, skiing, playing; in the snow on our farm, and parties with friends and family.
Of course, the holidays also mean late nights, sweets, and champagne! As fun as it is, it really does a number on my skin. Luckily, I’ve developed a pretty good regimen for staying glowy and bright-eyed all season long.
My holiday party prep always starts with a double cleanse using Nourishing Oil Cleanser and Purifying Cleanser. If I’ve been traveling or in cities a lot, I’ll follow with a facial steam using my Pure MistAire Enrichment Cool Mist Humidifier (or even a bowl of hot water) to help my skin detox. Then I do the Clarifying Mask. I’m obsessed with how it evens my complexion, gets rid of any redness and smooths my skin before a light makeup look. If I’m short on time, I’ll splash a bit of water on my face and polish my damp skin with it to use it as an exfoliating cleanser.
After I’m fully cleansed I saturate my skin with Hydrating Floral Essence and apply Rejuvenating Serum while my skin’s still damp for maximum penetration.
I focus a lot on my eyes before events since they play such a big role in how energized you look. I like to layer the Elixir Vitae Eye Serum and the Boosted Contouring Eye Mask to de-puff and hydrate. If I have time, I’ll massage the Eye Mask in with my Foreo Iris Illuminating Eye Massager to amplify the age-defying benefits and really target any puffiness or dark circles.
My skin is dry, especially in the winter, so I like to really quench it with Crème Riche. It’s key to have hydrated, plump-looking skin to look youthful, energized, and refreshed, especially when wearing a minimal makeup look.
For my party look, I’ll apply the Illuminating Eye Crème to really brighten my eyes and add a subtle shimmer, and the extra dose of hydration really helps my eyes look their best through the night. I like my eyes to really stand out, so next I’ll dab a bit of Very Highlighting in the inner corners of my eyes, on my brown bone, and on the middle of my eyelids above the lash line for an extra bright look, then put on a little bit of W3ll People's Hypnotist Eyeliner in brown. The finishing touch is a coat of W3ll People's Expressionist Mascara.
If I need any little touch ups, I’ll dab on RMS “un"-cover-up concealer in 000 with my fingers, then finish highlighting the rest of my face with Very Highlighting on my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and the tip of my nose.
There’s something so romantic about flushed, rosy cheeks, so I like to use Very Naughty on mine. I also put it on my lips, and top it with Be Adored for a rich raspberry shade and some extra gloss.
Finally, I’ll apply some Energy Treatment on my pulse points, toss it in my purse for some energy on the go, and I’m ready to get merry!
